Fritz Leng Hartmetall Ziehwerkzeuge is an owner-managed family business based in Herborn-Schönbach, Germany. Since its foundation in 1948 by Fritz Leng, the company has concentrated on one thing: manufacturing tungsten carbide drawing tools for wire, bar and tube production. Today the third generation runs the business — guided by the same principles it was founded on.

What Leng stands for
Reliability, loyalty and social responsibility were the founder's principles. As a third-generation family business we feel particularly committed to these values — towards our customers and our employees, especially in times of constant change and ever shorter economic cycles. The standard behind it has been on our homepage from the start: Quality is not a matter of taste.
Why a lean specialist can out-deliver a corporation
A lean structure, continuous investment in machinery, and a large stock of carbide blanks give us the flexibility to manufacture tools — which are made to order as a matter of principle — at very short notice: within 24 hours if necessary. This is made possible by long-serving employees whose experience is indispensable for the surface quality of our carbide tools, much of which is achieved by hand polishing.
Planning, design, quality
A powerful ERP system supports planning and control. Design work is done in modern 3D CAD; drawing geometries are engineered with dedicated calculation software. Strict adherence to the manufacturing and control processes defined in our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system ensures consistently high standards. Long-standing know-how combined with a readiness to innovate results in first-class tools for your production.
